Following the death of his parents King Goodwill Zwelithini and Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, Prince Misuzulu was crowned as King of the Zulu.

However the King has been facing court challenges from those opposing his position as King.

The King is continuing with his duties as usual and is set to address amabutho at the commemoration of the Battle of Isandlwana in Nquthu, KwaZuluNatal on the 22nd of January.

The King’s funding has been frozen by the government until the dispute between King Misuzulu and his brother Prince Simakade Zulu is resolved. The matter is being attended to by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Misuzulu has successfully held two events without the government’s funding. The King humbly invited media platforms to broadcast the event as masses won’t be able to attend due to Covid-19.

Prince Misuzulu Zulu was appointed as the King as it was written in his late mother Queen regent,  Queen Mantfombi Dlamini’s Will. However other Royal members nominated Prince Simakade Zulu as the King.
