Bathobile Mlangeni (31), the female security guard who stole R4 Million from a SBV depot at mall of Africa, on 15 July 2019, was hiding at a house in Zola for three months before she was arrested on 6 January 2022.
Police arrested Bathobile after a tip off. None of the money was recovered.
Vangile Dlamini (84), the granny who owns the house where Bathobile was hiding, said she lived alone at the house and she was happy when Bathobile arrived at her small four roomed house asking for accommodation.
Vangile said Bathobile was handy around the house and would assist her with house chores and going to the store for her.
Bathobile, who is originally from another section of Soweto called Dlamini, is reported to have attended the lavish wedding of her sister which was held last year.
Bathobile appeared at Alexandera court where her case was postponed to 24 January.
