Television personality Unathi Nkayi will not be returning to Idols SA season 18 due to her KAYA FM 95.9 scandal.
The talent competition is returning to TV screens on the 23rd of January. Sources revealed that her exit will coincide with the dramatic return of media personality Somizi Mhlongo.
Mhlongo was let go as Judge of Idols SA after season 16. The show was affected by Somizi and Unathi’s scandals. Somizi left the show after his husband Mohale Motaung accused him of abuse.
MNet realised that Idols SA lost a lot of viewers when Somizi Mhlongo was fired from the show. Mhlongo will be returning to the show after being given a break last year to sort out his issues.
Mhlongo was also taken off Metro FM and was dismissed as the brand ambassador of Bhatu. Unathi got into an altercation with Sizwe Dhlomo, she allegedly filed a false report against him.
Unathi made allegations which were found to be false and now she has to be given a break from the show aswell.
