The mortal remains of Corporal Tebogo Edwin Radebe who was killed in action in Mozambique arrived at Air Force Base Waterkloof this morning where they were handed over to the family.

Chief SANDF, General R. Maphwanya said the passing of Radebe is touching as one loss of a soldier is one too many for the country. He said he is proud of Radebe because he fell in the service of his country.

South African soldiers were ambushed during an insurgency in Cabo Delgado Province in the neighbouring Mozambique. Radebe was killed during the attack when they were waiting for the SANDF chopper.

The country sent 1500 troops into Mozambique as part of the Southern African Development Community mission.
