Popular businessman, Vusi Thembekwayo (36), spent the weekend in police cells after he beat up his wife, Palesa, at his Dainfern home on 4 December 2021.

Sunday World reports that the young venture capitalist and MyGrowthFund CEO, canceled his flight to Dubai and when he got home, dragged a sleeping Palesa out of bed by her feet and told her to pack up and leave.

In a police report seen by the newspaper, Palesa said Thembekwayo slapped her, dragged her down the stairs and then drove her towards Midrand.

When he stopped at a traffic light in Crowthorne , she jumped out of the car and ran to the police.

Thembekwayo was arrested  and released on bail on Monday. He appeared at Randburg Magistrates court on Wednesday where the case was postponed to 29 March 2022.

Thembekwayo told the newspaper that he did not slap his wife, but had an argument with her after he found her drunk when his flight from Kenya  to Dubai was canceled due to the travel ban and she did not expect him to come back.

Vusi Thembekwayo is a well known public figure who features on The Dragon ‘s Den reality show. He is one of the richest young South Africans, with business hubs in Limpopo and Gauteng. He travels all over the world presenting to audiences of entrepreneurs and business leaders.
