Songstress Nandi Madida has been slapped with a R14 million lawsuit by a KwaZuluNatal based company. The company is accusing her of cheating them on their Lux soap deal.

Madida was given 10 days to file a notice of her intentions to defend by Jali Bird. The company that is owned by Sobukwe Hlongwane obtained the summons against the singer at the Johannesburg High Court.

Nandi Madida clinched the lucrative deal from Unilever. She became the ambassador of the soap and she shot a couple of radio, TV and billboard adverts.

Jali Bird’s lawsuit comes just a year after Nandi Madida filed a lawsuit in the same court against DJ Black Coffee’s former Manager Amaru Da Costa after accusing him of short-paying her over R3.7 million from the deal.

Hlongwane’s company said it entered into an oral and written agreement to terminate the Lux deal because the songstress refused to work with it.

The company said because of Nandi Madida’s actions it lost R6.7 million as a result of the termination of the contract. Jali Bird wants Madida to pay the R6.7 million.
