South Africa recently conducted its local government elections and metros and municipalities have been busy swearing in their respective Mayors.

The Democratic Alliance party is celebrating its historic win in KwaZuluNatal Province after their member Chris Pappas who speaks Zulu was elected Mayor of uMngeni Municipality.

The DA has vowed to make UMngeni one of the best run municipalities in KwaZuluNatal Province. DA Councillor, Sandile Mnikathi has been elected Deputy Mayor of uMngeni Municipality.

The African National Congress is celebrating aswell after Kagisho Sonyoni who is 26 years old also made history by becoming the youngest Mayor of Sol Plaatjie Municipality.

The Economic Freedom Fighters party is also celebrating after Selloane Motjeane was elected Executive Mayor of Metsimaholo Local Municipality in the Free State Province.
