Miss SA Organisation earlier announced that they were sending Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane to participate at the Miss Universe pageant that will be held in Israel.
However there were growing calls for South Africa to withdraw from the event. Even the government failed to support Miss SA Organisation saying reasons for withdrawal far outweighed individual interests.
Israel is accused of practicing apartheid on the Palestinians. The organisation has remained silent on the matter following criticism from South Africans and other Palestinian supporters.
The organisation has shifted focus from Miss Universe to Miss World. They recently posted a video of former Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musida who will represent South Africa at the Miss World pageant.
Miss World pageant will take place at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico on the 16th of December 2021. Musida expressed her excitement to represent the country at Miss World.
Miss South Africa Organisation CEO Stephanie Weil had earlier said Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane will represent the country in Israel on the 13th of December.
