South African musician Sjava is busy with preparations for an upcoming performance in Eswatini. The performances are scheduled to take place on the 27th and 28th November 2021.

This comes after many attempts to make the award winning musician cancel his performance at the Food and Lifestyle Festival.

There is a crackdown in Eswatini and several people have lost their lives. Eswatini citizens took to social media to tell Sjava that he is not welcome in their country because they are mourning.

They said performing during this period will mean that he is siding with the government and that he condones injustices happening in Eswatini.

Swaziland Solidarity spokesperson Lucky Lukhele said citizens are against the festival which is being organised by the Royal family. He described the Royal family as a despicable regime.

He added that the festival was meant for propaganda therefore he pleaded with all South African artists not to honour the invitations.
