The Apostolic and Catholic churches in Zimbabwe asked for the government to stop Somizi Mhlongo’s entry into the country where he was scheduled to appear as a guest chef in Harare.

Somizi was supposed to appear as a guest at the reopening of Garwe restaurant today the 4th of November 2021. They said his influence will corrupt the youths in the country.

The media personality took a swipe at Zimbabwe for their strict laws on those in gay relationships. He said he is lucky to be in South Africa where the Constitution allows everyone to be themselves.

In a twist of events the choreographer and radio host has been invited to a gig in Namibia. Mhlongo took a video thanking God for turning his fortunes for the better after Zimbabwe turned him down.

Gay relationships are a criminal offence in atleast 69 countries and the majority of them are in Africa. Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Uganda are among the countries with tough laws against homos-exu-ality.
