A few days ago South African singer Makhadzi came under fire for supporting the ANC. She posted pictures wearing the ANC regalia and the post received a lot of backlash from South Africans.

Many said President Cyril Ramaphosa was jeopardizing Makhadzi’s career by affiliating her with ANC. Some fans threatened to unfollow her and to delete her songs.

However not everyone was against Makhadzi as Economic Freedom Fighters president Julius Malema took sides with the Limpopo born artist.

Malema wrote on the comments section, “You don’t need to explain yourself to anyone my sister, your freedom of association is protected by our constitution. It’s your choice and we should respect it.”

Makhadzi was invited by President Cyril Ramaphosa to the Union Buildings and she decided to wore the Party’s colours. Makhadzi was forced to delete the post as tweeps blasted her saying she was campaigning for ANC.
