Former MK veterans held the Minister of Defense Thandi Modise Hostage. Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele detailed how the Defence Minister was held hostage.
He said the situation is considered untenable and legally unacceptable. He said he thought they were in a meeting whose intention was to attend to the problems that affect military veterans.
The Minister revealed that they could not agree on how the meeting should take place thus they reached a point of adjoining the meeting.
Gungubele said as they were leaving the meeting, doors were closed as the Ministers were proceeding to the exit door. He said it was at that point that they realised that they were being held hostage.
He said the situation was evaded with the help of the security forces. The Minister thanked, Minister of Police, Bheki Cele for the prompt intervention.
The Minister in the Presidency concluded by saying they expected the law to take its course in dealing with the behavior of such nature.
