Woes are mounting for former South African President Jacob Zuma after the Helen Suzman Foundation filed an urgent application for a review of Zuma’s medical parole decision.

According to South African media the application in the Pretoria High Court is seeking a record of and reasons for granting Jacob Zuma’s medical parole.

It is said the Foundation has given Correctional Services Commissioner Arthur Fraser until Monday to explain his reasons for granting the former head of state parole.

The Foundation believes that the decision to release Zuma on medical parole is not legal. It wants the court to compell the commissioner to answer.

Zuma was granted medical parole at a time when he was serving his 15 months imprisonment for disobeying the Constitutional Court order which had compelled him to appear at the Zondo Commission.
