City Press reports that popular singer, Kelly Khumalo, felt insulted when she was approached by Mzani Magic’s idols SA to replace fired judge and friend, Somizi Mhlongo.
The newspaper reported that Kelly Khumalo told friends that her brand was too big to be used as a replacement for another strong brand.
A source told the newspaper that Idols approached Kelly but she turned down the offer as her other show, Stand Up SA is due to premier on SABC 2 in September.
Kelly reportedly felt that if Idols wanted her to be a judge, they would have approached her earlier, before they appointed and fired Somizi.
However, Kelyy’s manager, Kgathatso Totetsi denied that Kelly was approached by idols when approached by City Press.
