The Special Investigating Unit and the National Health Laboratory Services have been granted an order to freeze R42 million worth of assets belonging to businessman Hamilton Ndlovu.

This comes after an investigation into corruption allegations linked to eight companies directly and indirectly linked to Ndlovu’s dubious PPE contracts worth about R172 million.

The SIU discovered that the businessman used the funds to maintain his luxurious lifestyle. He sent social media into a frenzy when he posted a video boasting about buying a fleet of luxury cars worth about R11 million on the same day.

The cars included a Panamera GTS Sport Turismo, 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, Porsche Cayenne S Coupé, a Lamborghini Urus and a Jeep grand Cherokee.

The order also prohibits and restrains Ndlovu from selling any of his properties. The SIU spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago confirmed all this to Newzroom Afrika.

Kganyago said they will keep investigating the matter and everyone involved will be dealt with accordingly. He said they are currently holding R42 million but they need more than that.

He added that 87% of the amount was used by Ndlovu for his personal needs. He went further to say Ndlovu failed to deliver what he was supposed to deliver.
