The Jacob Zuma Foundation posted on Twitter asking for former President Jacob Zuma’s supporters to help with the payment of Zuma’s legal fees.
When Zuma was arrested his supporters marched in thousands demanding for his release. However many South Africans are saying they will not donate as they were not part of Zuma’s circle which plundered money with the Guptas.
Some are asking why Jacob Zuma is asking for money when his son Duduzane Zuma has a lot of money. They are saying the former President must take the looted funds and deposit them in the donations account.
Zuma is serving his 15 months jail term at Estcourt prison in KwaZuluNatal. This was after the Constitutional Court found him guilty of contempt of court.
Zuma had refused to appear before the State Capture Commission of Inquiry chaired by Justice Raymond Zondo.
