Former President Jacob Zuma is currently serving his 15 months imprisonment at Estcourt prison for disrespecting the Constitutional Court which had compelled him to appear before the Zondo Commission.

Zuma was supposed to answer to fraud, corruption and money laundering charges that took place during his two terms as President of South Africa.

After his arrest massive looting and destruction of property took place in KwaZuluNatal and Gauteng provinces as his supporters demanded his immediate release.

Despite all their efforts Zuma is still in jail and will probably remain there for some time. Zuma will get parole after serving atleast three quarters of his sentence.

Such an early release on parole would be subject to conditions of community corrections as set out by either the parole board or a court.

Good behavior and good cooperation with prison officials may aid in one getting a parole. If lucky Zuma’s parole might be in November this year.
