Zandile Msutwana plays the role of Vuyiswa Jola later Vuyiswa Maake on The Queen. She played an onscreen role as Jerry Maake’s wife. Shona Ferguson played the role of Captain Jerry Maake on the Queen.
The two played husband and wife for many seasons on the Mzansi Magic telenovela The Queen. They were also colleagues at the police station fighting crime and drugs in their community.
Shona Ferguson passed away at the age of 47 at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg on the 30th of July from Covid-19 related complications.
Many celebrities sent their condolences on social media. On the 6th of August a lot of celebrities took turns to pay tribute to Shona Ferguson. Amongst them was Shona’s wife Connie Ferguson and celebrities, Enhle Mbali, Dj Fresh, Gail Mabalane and more.
Not to be left out was Shona Ferguson’s onscreen wife Zandile Msutwana. Just like Connie Ferguson she mentioned Shona Ferguson’s cologne which one could smell even before they could see him. She described Shona as a giant full of love.
She mentioned his tight warm hugs and warm love, his kindness and generosity to others. She described the years she has worked with Shona Ferguson as enjoyable. She said it was an honour, a privilege to work with Shona Ferguson.
Zandile added that all the years she worked with Shona Ferguson were uplifting and humorous. She also described him as a people’s person.
The actress read tributes sent by other industry players who could not make it to the service due to Covid-19 protocols. These were tributes from actor Kagiso Modupe, actress Shannon Esra and many more.
