A few days ago Jacob Zuma handed himself over to the police after the Constitutional Court found him guilty of contempt of court. He was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment.
Since then masses of his supporters have been protesting demanding for the release of the former President Jacob Zuma. Protests which started in KwaZuluNatal have now spread to Gauteng and beyond.
A lot of shops were looted and cars including haulage trucks ferrying luxury cars and goods were set alite. Now celebrities have also joined the masses in support of Zuma
One of the celebrities is Uzalo actress Gugu Gumede who plays the role of MamMlambo on the SABC 1 show.
Zandi Khumalo also expressed her sadness over the imprisonment of Jacob Zuma. Gugu Gumede’s mother was a former politician and parliamentarian.
Gugu said Zuma supported her family when her mother was ill. She revealed that her family relied on Zuma when others were shunning on them during their difficult times.
