According to an article by City Press, so called prophet Shepherd Bushiri has allegedly been making several visits in and out of South Africa.
Bushiri is a wanted fugitive ever since he fled the country for Malawi during his fraud, money laundering and corruption trial.
Bushiri and his accomplices are accused of defrauding congregants of his Enlightened Christian Gathering church of R100 million through pyramid schemes.
Wapona Kita who is Bushiri’s lawyer dismissed the claims as baseless. While talking virtually from Malawi he told eNCA news that Bushiri was in Lilongwe, Malawi.
He said Bushiri has been in Malawi ever since he left South Africa, he said the prophet has no intention of visiting South Africa.
Kita said Shepherd Bushiri is free to travel anywhere he wants but because of his extradition case his movements out of Malawi were limited.
He revealed that Shepherd Bushiri is not stressed but he is in a jovial mood. Kita said Bushiri laughed when he heard these allegations.
The lawyer added that Mary Bushiri is also in Malawi and has never left to visit South Africa.
