Former Uzalo actress Dawn Thandeka King who is well known for her role as uMaNgcobo has blasted the KZN entertainment awards event organisers.
Dawn Thandeka won an award for Best Actress in December last year at the award ceremony which were held at the Durban ICC. The award was supposed to be accompanied by a sum of R100 thousand.
However the actress is saying she only received R20 000 of the prize money. According to Ilanga newspaper the actress has gotten several empty promises from the organisers who said she would have received the payment by March.
She said her situation forced her to move from Durban to Gauteng and the organisers had promised to make a deposit as soon as possible.
Sadly last month the actress lost her father and when she called the organisers for money, one named Mhlotshwa Gumede refused to listen.
She added that Mhlo Gumede who is married to Zandile Khumalo promised her R50 000 in order to cover the funeral expenses but only R20 000 was paid into her account.
