SAMAs say Makhadzi did not receive enough votes

The SAMAs awards have rejected claims that the awards are biased against Limpopo musicians.

Spokesman Lesley Mofokeng told the Daily sun newspaper that Makhadzi did not receive enough votes from the panel of judges, resulting in her not being nominated.

Makhadzi earlier told the newspaper that she felt pained as she believed she had done well, her music is being bought and she is receiving wide airplay on all platforms.

She says she deserves to be part of the SAMAs and is pained that she is not getting recognized. She said she now believes she is not being nominated because she is Benda.
