Cassper Nyovest Said The SAMAs Are Corrupt & Full of Rigging

In January 2021 rapper Cassper Nyovest tweeted that the South African Music Awards are corrupt. The SAMAs recently announced names of the nomininees for the 2021 award ceremony.

A lot of people are not happy with the nomininees especially Boity Thulo. People are angry that artists like Makhadzi Muimbi were not nominated even though she submitted her forms.

Cassper Nyovest said the SAMAs used to be the biggest and most important award for an artist but that is no longer the case as they have disconnected from the culture because of rigging.

He added that the SAMAs thought that they were bigger than artists. He even questioned if there was any need to have the SAMA awards as they are no longer special.
