South African celebrities have been venturing into the alcohol industry and a lot of them now have alcohol brands of their own. Below are some of the celebrities and their brands.
Award winning DJ Zinhle is one of the celebrities who have their own alcohol brands, her brand is known as the Boulevard Nectar Rose. She also acquired an equity in the international sparkling wine beverage.
Television personality and reality tv star Bonang Matheba’s alcohol brand is known as the House of BNG. She also introduced its Brut and Brut Rosé Méthode Cap Classiques MMCs. Bonang introduced the BNG Nectar late last year and it comes in a can.
Media personality and reality tv star Khanyi Mbau’s has her alcohol brand aswell. In 2018 she launched her gin known as the ‘I Am Khanyi- Millenial Shimmer Gin which comes in a pink bottle with a gold labelling.
Controversial songstress Kelly Khumalo also launched her own alcoholic beverage. The award winning singer announced in 2020 that she was launching her own gin known as Controversy Gin By Kelly Khumalo.
Rapper Boity Thulo also went into the beverage business. She launched her BT Signature which produces alcoholic and non-alcoholic sparkling fruit beverages.
Radio host, choreographer and reality tv star Somizi Mhlongo in partnership with GH Mumm announced in late 2019 that they were launching Somizi’s own branded bottle of champagne.
AKA also launched his AKA Cruz Vodka which comes in Watermelon and banana flavours. He first introduced the Watermelon Infusions flavour before launching the Banana Deluxe late last year.
