The Star Newspaper reports that the SABC has slapped economics editor, Thandeka Gqubule-Mbeki with three charges, relating to her behavior during the period leading up to the retrenchment of over 600 employees.

1st Charge

Intimidating Mrs Khudu Judith Tseke (a contractor), by uttering the words, ‘she must stop being a rat and join the protest’.

2nd Charge

Offensive language and behavior towards a fellow employee.

3rd Charge

Not following due process in signing the invoice of a freelancer.

The newspaper said if Thandeka is found guilty under the first charge, it would lead to her employment being terminated.

The communication workers union said the charges are a witch – hunt.
