The Sunday Times Newspaper reports that hospitalized Dr Sindi Van Zyl did not have medical aid, when she suddenly fell sick in February battling to breathe.
Her husband, Marinus, told the newspaper:
The truth is that she did not have a medical aid when she fell sick. She was still deciding which one was best for her when she fell sick, and she is the doctor in the house and we left it To her.
Marinus said they initially thought the money from mortgaging some or their properties would be enough, but it wasn’t.
He said the kids know that Dr Sindi is very sick, and she might pass on, but they have not given up hope.
