Popular musician, Chomee (Thulisile Madihlaba) , has shocked South Africans after she bought a car with money she received from the South African government to launch an artists development project.

The Daily sun reports that Chomee’s company, Divatainment, received R2 Million from The National Arts Council for a project called Online Broadcasting Development Programme.

Instead, Chomee bought a new car. The issue was raised with the minister of Sports, Youths and culture, Nathi Mthethwa, but nothing was done.

Chomee ‘s company, Divatainment, is not trading and is now being de-registered at the CIPC.


Details of the money given to Chomee’s company came up after it was revealed that companies linked to Arthur Mafokate received over R10 Million from the National Arts Council.

Black Technicians Association (Lesego) – R849 000

SAADA – R1, 9 Million
