Vitiligo is a skin condition that causes the skin to lose pigmentation call melanin, leading to discolored patches on the skin, it does not feel uncomfortable or painful at all and it is not contagious.

It is more noticeable on people with darker skin. The most common signs are premature whitening or graying of the hair on the scalp, eyelashes and eyebrow.

There is also patches on the back of the hand , the skin around body opening such as eyes and mouth, knees, elbows and feet. Vitiligo is a genetic condition that can start as early as 10years old and as late as 30years old.
