Nokuthula Mavuso takes on the character of Amo in M-Net’s original production Lioness which premiered on 28 January 2021.
In a YouTube video, the actress described Amo as the backbone of her family as she aims to provide support foe her troubled husband Sifiso and their children.
Providing more insight into her character, Nokuthula revealed that Amo and Samantha share a friendship of many years which is broken when Samantha is sent to jail.
Their relationship becomes severely impacted by the lies and accusations causing each of them to protect themselves above anyone else.
Nokuthula explained that the hardest part about playing Amo was their differences when it comes to religion.
As someone who is not religious, Nokuthula found it difficult to understand Amo’s mindset of behaving in a way that complies with the teachings of Christianity.
