South Africa’s Patrice Motsepe will go into the CAF presidential elections, set for 12 March, unopposed!

The Daily Sun newspaper reports that FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, has successfully convinced Augustin Senghor (Senegal) and Ahmad Yahya (Mauritania), to pull out of the race.

This left only Jacques Anouma (Ivory Coast).

However, the newspaper says Anouma has agreed go pull out of the race if he is made a special advisor.

Infantino, after meeting South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa last week, went on to visit Mauritania, Senegal, The Central African Republic and Rwanda.

Anouma is one of the most powerful men in Africa, and was previously named in a scandal involving Qatar, together with former CAF President, Issa Hayatou where they were accused of being paid $22 Million by the Qatar government in 2011 to rig the World Cup bidding process.
