Makazole Mapimpi Receives Hero ‘s Welcome In Japan

Springbok winger, Makazole Mapimpi (30), Popularly known As Drex, received a hero’s welcome when he joined Docomo Red Hurricanes in September 2020.

Mapimpi told the Sowetan Newspaper that he was surprised how many people knew about his life story and were inspired by it.

Mapimpi, who grew up in rural Tsholomnqa, overcame a childhood of hardship to play at the 2019 World Cup in Japan.

Makazole is playing under his former coach, ex Lions coach, Johan Ackermann.
