The late Durban underworld boss, Teddy Mafia (63), was yesterday buried in a casket worth R300 000.

Women chanted Viva Mafia, Viva Mafia as Teddy Mafia (Real name Yaganathan Pillay)’s coffin was carried into his house in Taurus Street in Shallcross.

Teddy Mafia was gunned down on Monday and immediately after,  two men accused of killing him were killed on the street near his home.

Pinetown Funeral Services director,  Christopher Moodley, told the Sowetan Newspaper that Teddy Mafia would be buried in a diamond studded casket worth R300 000.

Teddy Mafia was arrested in 2013, 2016 and again in March 2020 for drug possession and huge amounts of cash were found in his house during the raids.
