The Mabena clan yesterday protested at the SABC against ads by the solidarity fund that theu said make fun of the name Mabena.
A Mabena is someone who is considered stupid and incompetent, after a character in a video of bungling South African soldiers that went viral last year.

The Mabena clan representative, Mandla Mabena Kamakarena, told the Daily sun newspaper that the mockery of their surname was degrading.
Solidarity Fund spokeswoman, Wendy Tlou said both parties have agreed to have a meeting on 11 January.
She said the solidarity fund has apologized to Prince Nkosana Mabena for the ads.
