AL Ahly coach, Pitso Mosimane, has denied that he is the one who recruited, Sundowns ‘South American player, Gaston Sirino, to Egyptian and CAF Champions club , Al Ahly.
Talks are underway between the two clubs to secure the transfer of the midfielder to Al Ahly.
However, Sundowns are reportedly holding out as the want more money for Sirino.
Mosimane was speaking during a virtual press conference with the SA football journalists Association on Thursday.
Mosimane says it was him, when he was still Sundowns Coach, who discouraged Sirino from moving to Al Ahly, who had expressed interest in the player. However, Al Ahly always wanted Sirino.
Mosimane said :
He wants to play for AL Ahly, that is a fact, and Sundowns know that. He is fighting for that, but he has to do it the right way, and if Sundowns want to release him, they can. If they don’t want to, it’s OK.
