The South African government has started the extradition process of prophet Shepherd Bushiri.

Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary fled the country to Malawi after getting bail in which one of the bail conditions was that they were not supposed to leave the city, let alone the country.

South African government spokesperson Phumla Williams, said the extradition from Malawi will be requested in terms of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Protocol on Extradition.

Bushiri and his wife face charges of theft and money laundering in connection with an investment scheme worth R102 million.
