Popular songstress Busiswa Gqulu has come out guns blazing on Instagram naming and shaming those who have abused her.
Busiswa shared on Instagram how she was physically, emotionally, financially and psychologically abused by her two ex boyfriends.
One of them is the father of her baby Katlego Mlangeni. Busiswa took the opportunity to speak against gender based violence in South Africa.
Busiswa revealed that between 2013 and 2019 she was in two abusive relationships. She was first in a relationship with Sfiso Mazibuko and then Katlego Mlangeni, both of them abused her.
Mlangeni allegedly beat the songwriter even after their breakup. Busiswa said she was not ready to talk about her abuse at the time because she was ashamed.
She challenged other women and girls who are in abusive relationships to seek help as it is not their responsibility to change abusers.
Busiswa said she regrets not getting her abusers arrested. She said men deserved to be punished even by death for abusing women.
Fans and other celebrities including Nomzamo Mbatha, Nadia Nakai and Kelly Khumalo all sent their love and support to Busiswa.
