The John Vuli Gate singers found themselves in a police van on Sunday and heading straight to the Pretoria Central Police station.

They were taken in for questioning regarding an alleged theft of the hit song. They were later released and they managed to appear on the Idols SA stage.

Mapara A Jazz which is the duo of McMillan “Man Malaya” Nephawe and Leonard “Lenny Sbechu” Malatji were accused by Scara Chilli Ya Baba of stealing their popular Amapiano song John Vuli Gate.

A member of the Scara Chilli Ya Baba told the Daily Sun that Man Malaya stole the song from his brother Ndivhuwo who is a member of Scara Chilli Ya Baba.

Pretoria Police spokesperson Captain Agustinah Selepe confirmed that Mapara A Jazz were brought in for questioning and were released as the matter is still under investigation.
