Five suspects who are implicated in the murder of late Bafana Bafana goal keeper Senzo Meyiwa appeared at the Boksburg Magistrate Court today.
The suspects are being charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated robbery. Two of the suspects made damning allegations against the authorities.
One of them said there is a lot of corruption involved in this case as some police officers have bribed witnesses. Three of the suspects were already serving their jail sentence.
The accused are still maintaining their innocence. The National Prosecuting Authority said records between Kelly Khumalo and the suspects must be obtained.
The mentioning of Kelly Khumalo in the NPA’s document means that a lot of confusion needs to be cleared in order to determine whether Meyiwa’s murder was a hit or a robbery.
The matter is expected to move to the High Court. Meyiwa’s case has been postponed to the 27th of November 2020.
