Oscar Pistorius who is currently serving his sentence for the murder of Reeva Steenkamp is apparently seeking for forgiveness from her family.

According to Sunday Sun, a close friend of him told the publication that Pistorius wants the family to forgive him for the murder of their daughter and that he is now a changed man.

The statement given to the publication reads as follows, “what he really really wants is forgiveness, I said to him if he had killed my daughter I doubt I would forgive him. He is more concerned about forgiveness than actually getting out on parole. In fact he has real fear about getting out on parole as he knows that there will be backlash.”

In addition the friend told the publication that Oscar has turned to God. Oscar Pistorius was sentenced to 13 years 5 months in  2016 for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva.

He was initially sentenced to six years but a Supreme Court appeal overturned his sentence. Reeva Steenkamp was murdered on Valentine’s day in 2013.

During the trial Oscar Pistorius maintained that he mistook her for an intruder when he shot her through the bathroom door.
