According to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, sources informed him that if the soapie’s numbers do not improve, the channel might consider pulling the plug on it.
Rumours that the show was being cancelled began earlier this year. The award winning show has seen the departure of fan favourite actors and actresses.
The show lost Menzi Ngubane, Jessica Nkosi, Nomzamo Mbatha among other actors and actresses. New cast members have not really helped the situation.
There were also rumours that Siyabonga Thwala and Pallance Dladla were also leaving Isibaya. The storyline of the show has been boring lately leading to a decline in viewership.
