Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU), today confiscated a range of luxury sports cars belonging to businessman Edwin Sodi in Bryanston.

Sodi is the Director of Blackhead Consulting. Among the seized cars is a Ferrari FF which is valued at about R3 million.

The red Ferrari was pulled into the property before AFU officials arrived. After that a Porsche Cayenne followed.

A Bentley Continental GT valued at more than R3 million was also seen leaving the premises. The seizure was on behalf of the court as requested by the National Prosecuting Authority.

Sodi is one of those accused and suspected of having made profits from dodgy asbestos audit tender worth R255 million in Free State.

Sodi and other six suspects including former mayor of Mangaung metro municipality, Olly Mlamleli were arrested last week by the Hawks.

Sodi was later released on half a million Rand bail after appearing at the Bloemfontein High Court.
