Pitso Mosimane has resigned as Mamelodi Sundowns head coach. He will be heading to his new job in the North African country of Egypt.

Mosimane is leaving the Tshwane giants and is set to join the Egyptian giants Al Ahly. The Egyptian club is said to be in a hurry to have Mosimane join them.

The outgoing coach thanked Mamelodi Sundowns President Patrice Motsepe for giving him the opportunity to lead the Tshwane based club.

Under Mosimane Mamelodi Sundowns dominated in the South African Championship and led the club to lifting their 10th Premiership title in the final day of the season.

Mamelodi Sundowns managed to lift the Nedbank Cup in addition to the Telkom Knockout and Absa Premiership titles.

Such achievements attracted clubs across the continent, thus Al Ahly took the first opportunity to grab Mosimane.
