The Royalty Soapie Awards were launched back in 2013. The awards have been on and off since their inception. The 4th ceremony of the awards was held just recently.
The River and Gomora domimated the ceremony and they were the big winners as they managed to walk away with four awards each.
Dawn Thandeka King won the Outstanding Lead Actress award for her role as MaNgcobo on Uzalo. Presley Chweneyagae won the Outstanding Lead Actor award for his role as Cobra on The River.
The Outstanding Supporting Actress award went to Sanah Mchunu as Zodwa on Gomora. Outstanding Supporting Actor Award went to Sthembiso Khoza as Shaka Khoza on The Queen.
Outstanding Female Villain award went to Sindi Dlathu as Lindiwe Dikana on TheRiver. Sicelo Buthelezi as Teddy on Gomora won the Outstanding Newcomer award.
Outstanding Couple award was won by Sindi Dlathu as Lindiwe Dikana and Hlomla Dandala as Zweli on The River. Outstanding Directing Team award was won by Gomora.
Outstanding Make-up and Hair award was won by The River. Outstanding Writing Team award was won by SABC 1 soapie Skeem Saam.
Outstanding Wardrobe award was won by The Queen. Most Popular Soapie Award was scooped by Gomora.
