Entrepreneur and business woman Gugu Nkabinde says that gender equity is more important than gender equality.
Nkabinde said that she has been through situations in the workplace where she was made to feel like she was not equal to men yet it was not the case.
She said that in work places women are forced to suppress their true character in fear of being labelled as too talkative or too reserved.
She highlighted that even though women and men are beginning to be offered the same jobs, women find themselves underperforming because of their backgrounds.
Gugu Nkabinde said that while men only think of their work, women have gone through a lot before getting to work already and this affects their work.
She said that men need to start appreciating women in their work spaces like their mothers and sisters at home.
